BOSTON—CopilotIQ, a health tech company seeking to help older adults with chronic conditions, and Biofourmis, a global technology-enabled care delivery company aiming to provide in-home care solutions, announced a merger. The combined company intends to create an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven platform to deliver in-home care across the full spectrum, including pre-surgical optimization, acute, post-acute and chronic care.
“Our mission is to redefine the future of health care delivery by extending care to the comfort of patients’ homes and driving improved health outcomes, at the lowest possible cost to the system,” said David Koretz, CEO of the newly-combined CopilotIQ and Biofourmis. “This merger is a major step toward realizing our vision of transforming health care from reactive treatment to proactive prevention, and from generalized to deeply personalized, data-driven care.”
The company said the combination aims to allow vendors to provide improved offerings across the entire care continuum. Additionally, the merger hopes to create a solution that enterprise customers will enjoy, improving patient observability across the care continuum via technology integrations. The merger intends to provide solutions to home-based care cost and complexity issues that are common among hospitals and payers.
Biofourmis aims to support health systems, payers and life sciences companies in delivering complex care for patients in the home by using Food and Drug Administration-cleared algorithms and technology. The company said these efforts intend to be expanded with the combination of CopilotIQ’s technologies. Additionally, the company hopes to provide coordinated, convenient and cost-effective care for patients who area managing chronic conditions. The use of CopilotIQ’s software suite for patient engagement, clinician efficiency and clinical personalization, aims to improve Biofourmis’ acute and post-acute offerings.
