NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (May 2, 2018)—Building on an established track record of organic growth, Cure Medical is announcing today that their full line of ready-to-use, 16-inch Cure hydrophilic catheters is now approved for sale in Canada.

“The demand in Canada for Cure Medical catheters is increasing. Cure Medical will continue to expand our product availability and brand awareness in this market,” said CEO John Anderson.

“Early on, expanding into Canada was relatively easy especially for Cure Medical, as all of our product packaging has English and French labeling, as well as Spanish,” Anderson said. “Today, however, medical device manufacturers really have to decide whether to be in or out with selling into Canada. The Canadian government’s current compliance shift from the Canadian Medical Devices Conformity Assessment System (CMDCAS) to the new Medical Device Single Audit Program (MDSAP) [is causing compliance issues for smaller manufacturers]. These programs ensure medical device manufacturers are compliant with Health Canada Regulations. The MDSAP requires a much more robust and expensive audit than the current CMDCAS system. These audits can cost upwards of $50,000 USD. Cure Medical has made the decision to comply with MDSAP so providers and end users in Canada will have continued access to Cure Medical Intermittent Catheters and Closed systems. We are fortunate to have a committed team and great products, so this shift to the new program will be managed well.”

The following intermittent catheters are available now from Cure Medical and its authorized dealers in Canada.
