Knute Nelson & Walker Methodist have merged and rebranded as Vivie

ALEXANDRIA, Minnesota—Knute Nelson and Walker Methodist announced their new name and brand—Vivie. With more than 150 years of combined service to older adults in their communities, Vivie unites two legacies under one name and vision.

As Vivie, the organization said it remains dedicated to the values that have made Knute Nelson and Walker Methodist pillars in their communities for generations. After merging in January 2024, the newly formed organization quickly began an extensive process to find a single, unifying name.

"While our name is new, our heart for service remains the same," shared Mark Anderson, president and CEO. “We will continue to build on the solid foundation built by Knute Nelson and Walker Methodist, expanding our services to meet the evolving needs of those we serve.”

The name Vivie is derived from the Latin root “viv” to paint a picture of what it means to live. The new brand represents a vision for the future, rooted in the company's mission of enriching, empowering and elevating people throughout life’s journey.

"Whether it's through Vivie Home Health Care, Vivie Hospice or in Vivie Living communities," said Anderson, "we're here to support the people we serve when and where they need it. Every person deserves to live well."

Vivie's integrated range of services also includes Vivie Rehab, Vivie Wellness, Vivie Population Health and Vivie Consulting. Additionally, the Vivie Foundation will continue supporting the organization’s mission through fund development and philanthropic giving.

While Vivie will continue to provide services and care for aging adults, the organization aims to transform to meet the needs of the people it serves.

"Health care is transforming, technology is advancing, and people are aging differently," said Anderson. "We believe there are better ways to care for people—and we're excited to lead the way to make it happen."
