Wellspring Lutheran Services president & CEO will be honored at LeadingAge annual meeting

WASHINGTON—LeadingAge, a nonprofit and mission-driven provider of aging services, announced David Gehm as the 2024 Award of Honor recipient. This accolade recognizes Gehm, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Wellspring Lutheran Services, for his leadership, commitment to community services and advancement of care quality for older adults.

Under Gehm’s leadership, Wellspring Lutheran Services has achieved milestones in providing care and nurturing environments for older adults, as well as assisting foster children and families throughout Michigan.

Throughout Gehm’s 30 years of experience as CEO, Wellspring has offered a broad range of resources, supports and human care services that have impacted more than 15,000 individuals in Michigan’s most vulnerable populations. 

“A truly gifted chief executive and innovator, David Gehm leads with vision,” said Katie Smith Sloan, president and CEO of LeadingAge. “Wellspring Lutheran is a unique nonprofit serving thousands of older adults, children and families in need every year. Under his leadership, the organization has expanded its footprint, services, impact and mission. An astute problem-solver, David demonstrates by example all that can be accomplished with commitment, creativity and perseverance. His many contributions to LeadingAge include mentor, academy coach, board chair, trusted board and committee member, advisor and friend. In each of these roles, he has strengthened the LeadingAge community in countless ways.” 

Gehm will be recognized at LeadingAge’s annual meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday, Oct. 28.
