Via HOMES, NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (November 30, 2017)—Late afternoon on November 22, MassHealth published proposed regulation and rate changes and scheduled a public hearing for December 13 at 1 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room, 100 Hancock Street, Quincy, Mass. The proposed effective date of the regulations is February 23, 2018.
HOMES encourages its members who are MassHealth providers to thoroughly review the proposed policy and reimbursement rate changes, and email any concerns to Karyn Estrella, no later than Tuesday, December 5.
Missing from the proposed rate changes are incontinence codes. MassHealth signed a contract with a "preferred distributor" but has not specified. It was HOMES's understanding that the new incontinence rates would be included in the proposed rates. An email has been sent to Tom Lane, Director, MassHealth Office of Long Term Services and Supports, asking for clarification.
