The grant will support art-related grief and bereavement programming for Tidewell Hospice

SARASOTA, Florida—Tidewell Foundation received a grant of $5,050 from the Eugene H. and Elizabeth Hull Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation (MCF) to support Tidewell Hospice grief services in Manatee County.

The grant will support art-related grief and bereavement programming for Tidewell Hospice, which provides 13 months of grief support services, free of charge, to family members of Tidewell patients after their loss.

Tidewell grief counselors are highly trained and specialize in grief support, individual sessions, support groups, workshops and special events. The MCF grant funds workshops and events that encourage creating meaningful projects helping participants process their grief and enhancing the healing process.

“We greatly appreciate the Manatee Community Foundation’s commitment to grief and bereavement services,” said Delesa Morris, Tidewell Foundation president. “This grant will provide hope and healing to families touched by grief.”

“A myriad of studies affirm the deep connection between artistic expression and trauma recovery,” said Veronica Thames, MCF executive director. “Manatee Community Foundation is grateful to our generous donors for investing in the healing of our community, and to the exceptional team at Tidewell Foundation for their commitment to making these therapeutic approaches available to all in their greatest time of need.”
