SHOREVIEW, Minn. and TORONTO (December 17, 2018)—Maxwell Healthcare Associates (MHA), a post-acute operational, financial, technological and regulatory consulting firm, announced Swift Skin and Wound as its exclusive digital wound care management solution of choice for MHA home health clients.
The partnership coincides with the January 2019 rollout of new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services rules surrounding pressure ulcer prevention and management, according to the company.
“At Maxwell we believe technology is key to not only surviving but thriving amid constant regulatory changes and reimbursement cuts,” said MHA CEO Tom Maxwell. “We began searching for a wound care technology for our clients and found it in Swift. More than 1,000 facilities are already successfully leveraging Swift Skin and Wound for better clinical outcomes.”
Swift Skin and Wound can improve clinical and administrative wound care management workflows through: the Swift app, which captures wound care information as easily as taking a picture; the Swift HealX, an FDA-registered adhesive marker applied to calibrate wound images for size, color and lighting; and Swift Dashboards that display real-time healing and treatment to help clinicians and administrators identify risks immediately and improve care.
“We know MHA’s clients are among the most sophisticated in the home health and hospice space,” said Swift Medical CEO Carlo Perez. “We’re excited to work with those trailblazers to transform wound care management.”
Between 14 to 16 percent of all homecare patients have serious wounds, notes Maxwell. With its new partner, MHA can help clients leverage Swift Skin and Wound to better treat patients’ wounds and improve care quality while decreasing costs and reducing paperwork.
This marked MHA’s third partnership announcement in 2018. The first two featured collaborations with home health coding and analytics enterprises.
“We founded MHA with a mission to help home health and hospice providers gain efficiencies by bridging people, process and technology,” said MHA president Jennifer Maxwell.
