CLEVELAND, Ohio—The Mercy Health Home Care and Hospice programs serving Greater Cleveland announced new names: “Mercy Health Home Care by Compassus” and “Mercy Health New Life Hospice by Compassus.”
The name changes reflect the partnership between Bon Secours Mercy Health, a Catholic health system in the United States, and Compassus, a national provider of integrated home-based health care services, which was finalized earlier this year.
“We’re proud to collaborate with Compassus to continue delivery of high-quality, person-centered home health and hospice care to patients and families in our community,” said Melanie Boyts, executive director at Mercy Health Home Care by Compassus. “With Compassus’ expertise and our reputation for excellence in Greater Cleveland’s communities, we look forward to furthering our commitment to providing compassionate care at the right time.”
The locations formerly managed by Mercy Health in Lorain, Ohio, will now be rebranded and managed by Compassus. Additionally, Compassus’ Seven Hills hospice program will be rebranded as “Mercy Health Hospice by Compassus” and become part of the joint venture.
The company said that while its name is changing, patients and families will continue to receive the same quality, compassionate care from the team members they know and trust. The partnership with Compassus aims to provide patients with an additional level of support in their ongoing journeys across the care continuum and beyond the health system walls.
