The Newsweek list of America’s best physical rehabilitation centers features North Oaks in Louisiana’s top 10

HAMMOND, Louisiana—North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital has been added to Newsweek’s 2024 list of America’s best physical rehabilitation centers. Out of the 300 inpatient rehabilitation facilities recognized on the list, North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital ranks in the top 10 of Louisiana rehabilitation centers.

Over the past five years, Newsweek has prepared this list with the help of Statista Inc., a market research and consumer data firm. The list aims to help patients identify the best care options available to them. Each rehabilitation center on the list is assigned a score based on quality metrics, accreditation date, national surveys from industry experts and reviews from patients.

North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital is dually accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and The Joint Commission. Additionally, it is one of few CARF-accredited stroke specialty programs in Louisiana. It serves patients with diverse needs, such as brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, arthritis and more.

The hospital ranks among the top three percent of facilities surveyed by CARF. The hospital includes 27 private, barrier-free patient rooms, an 8,000 square foot gym, a full kitchen, laundry area and therapeutic garden in which patients can practice daily life skills and independence.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition for the exceptional patient-centered care offered by our team,” said Mac Barrient, administrator of North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital. “This award is a testament to our providers’ incredible expertise, commitment and skill when it comes to collaborating with our patients and their loved ones to develop personalized plans of care to achieve outstanding outcomes.”
