WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 28, 2020)—The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a new targeted distribution of the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund that allocates funds to providers that treat uninsured patients during this public health emergency, in April. This funding allows providers that serviced uninsured patients on or after Feb. 4, 2020 to receive payment at Medicare allowables.
However, soon after the Uninsured Program opened on May 6, AAHomecare was notified by suppliers that DMEPOS claims were getting rejected due to a system issue and subsequently reached out to program administrator UnitedHealthcare (UHC) on the issue.
UHC informed AAHomecare that the system issue had been fixed and suppliers should now be able to get DMEPOS claims through. In addition, UHC has expressed interest in working with AAHomecare to help educate the supplier community on this funding opportunity.
