DAVISON, Mich. (October 25, 2019)—In service to users of HDMS and StowPoint across the country, Universal Software Solutions, Inc. (Universal) held the 2019 Users Conference from Sept. 9–11 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the JW Marriott.

During this event, providers of home medical equipment, home medical supply, prosthetics & orthotics, complex rehab, home infusion, and single & compound drugs who use HDMS as their post-acute care solution for customer service, inventory, and billing attended the three-day show for networking and education. At the event, the Education and Outreach team lead by Lisa Anderson hosted 18 one-hour sessions of live instruction on topics ranging from the customer acquisition process all the way through the business cycle to paid claim.

Attendees indicated that educational content was the strongest factor when deciding whether to attend, as well as “being able to connect with other users,” and that they strongly agreed when asked if attending the conference was worth the investment of time and money. Universal’s fourth bi-annual conference featured two keynote speakers, Ty Bello and Dr. Stephen Shaya, as well as the presentation of the Client Innovator of the Year award to Hart Medical Equipment. Allen Hunt, president of the Michigan-based company, accepted the award and spoke to attendees about how pushing for innovation is what carried Hart through the challenging HME landscape.

Representatives from 14% of Universal’s client base attended the conference and met with nine different sponsors to explore how to support excellence in customer care, inventory management, and billing by bridging software gaps in their businesses. About the conference’s attendance, Dave Golen Sr., VP of Business Development, says, “We’ve said for a long time that with us, it’s personal. Standing here face to face with our long-time customers and friends, looking at the five to 10 staff members each of these businesses have taken away from operations to attend this event proves that our clients feel the difference. I am proud of the relationships I’ve built for Universal and that they continue to stay engaged decades later.”
