SARASOTA, Fla. (JUNE 27, 2017)—Harmar Mobility, LLC (Harmar), a manufacturer of mobility and accessibility lifts received the “Hero of Freedom Award” at the Wheelchairs 4 Kids Heroes Appreciation Lunch held in Safety Harbor, Florida, on Wednesday June 21. Harmar named Wheelchairs 4 Kids as a Charity of Record in mid-2016, and has supported their cause by significantly reducing the cost of providing wheelchair lifts for vehicles and installation services, assisting with product expertise, sponsoring various events and even participating in fundraising with employees and corporate donations.
Madeline Robinson, executive director of Wheelchairs 4 Kids shared, “We are so thankful for Harmar’s involvement. We helped over 75 kids this year. In several instances, presenting a new wheelchair also involved needing a powered lift to help transport it. Harmar makes this easy and helps us stretch our funds to help even more kids. The Hero Award is our highest annual honor and we just love working with the Harmar team.”
Upon receiving the award on behalf of Harmar, David Baxter, vice president of marketing at Harmar shared, “Harmar was very touched to receive this recognition from Wheelchairs 4 Kids. These kids, their families and the crew at Wheelchairs 4 Kids are the real heroes and we hope our little part helps them enjoy life just a little bit more.”
