The “Model R” mobility scooter is ISO-certified & includes patented electronic stability control

SAN CARLOS, California—WHILL Inc., a developer and service provider of electric mobility devices, announced it will unveil its four-wheel “Model R” mobility scooter at the Medtrade 2025 Expo and Conference in Dallas. The scooter will include patented electronic stability control technology, an improved turning radius and an expansive floor for ample legroom.

"At WHILL, our mission is to design mobility scooters for active individuals,” said Satoshi Sugie, co-founder and CEO of WHILL. "The success of our four-wheel Model R in Europe has reinforced our vision of creating more than just a scooter—we've developed a companion that offers stability, easy maneuverability and a clean design. We are putting U.S. users in control so they can experience the freedom and confidence this scooter has already brought to so many people worldwide.”

The Model R series is FDA cleared, which underscores compliance with the highest regulatory standards, the company said. The four-wheel Model R scooter aims to incorporate stability, maneuverability and portability. Engineered for both indoor and outdoor use, users will be able to navigate tight spaces, crowded urban environments, confined indoor areas and rugged outdoor terrain. Additionally, the Model R series is water resistant, built with high-strength aluminum and balances durability and a lightweight design for smooth transport.

WHILL plans to showcase the scooter at the Medtrade Expo and Conference in Dallas, from Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Thursday, Feb. 20.  The scooter will be available for pre-order at Medtrade and to all U.S. consumers in March.
