The Common Electronic Data Interchange contractor NGS said last week it will implement additional security measures on Dec. 30 requiring a password change every 60 days instead of every 90.
The CEDI has already announced it will close all direct dial-up connections due to security concerns; as of April 30, 2011, providers and others must go through one of six approved network service vendors to access the gateway over a secure Internet connection.
Industry software providers Brightree and Fastrack said last month their customers will see no change in CEDI access or free claims submission since they each work with an approved NSV.
