Arcadia Resources, Southfield, Mich., has acquired the Florida operations of Regional Oxygen and Medical Equipment and Encore Respiratory. Both companies, which have combined annual sales of $1.8 million, provide respiratory and DME to the Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, North Port, Sarasota, Lake Alfred, Winter Haven, Sebring and Venice markets. Arcadia, which provides home care and staffing services, mail order pharmacy and DME, has made more than 20 acquisitions within the past two years.
Hoveround Corp., Sarasota, Fla., has opened a new customer service center in Houston that will expand support services to more than 25 markets along the West Coast. With 20 employees, the new center is the result of a transaction between Hoveround and Gentiva CareCentrix, which decided to consolidate operations internally.
The Med Group has announced the finalization of its recapitalization by management and a group of health care investors. The investor group, which includes the private equity firms Beecken Petty O'Keefe & Company and CroBern Management Partnership, will “enable Med to further its growth initiatives and continue to provide value-added services to its members,” according to the buying group, which has 230 members. Assistive Technology Group, a privately held company and a provider of mobility products and services, had previously owned a majority interest in Med and will continue as a minority shareholder.
