Two home care companies hit by Hurricane Katrina — Jones County Medical Supplies, Laurel, Miss., and Houston-based American Medical Equipment Company (with branches in the Gulf area) — will share $75,000 contributed by more than 40 organizations at the American Association for Homecare Humanitarian Dinner. A committee including state association directors from the hurricane-ravaged region determined how to distribute the funds, earmarked to help home care providers hurt by the storm.
