If you have issues with CMS' new interim final rule for power mobility equipment, what is your biggest concern?
When CMS released its interim final rule for mobility in August, providers and other industry stakeholders responded with a long list of concerns. HomeCare asked about them in the magazine's monthly Web poll, conducted during September. While 54 percent of participants focused on a variety of specific issues — and 4 percent said they had no worries — the biggest group, 42 percent, said they were concerned about all of the following issues.
It drops the CMN | 5% |
Problems with obtaining physician/prescribing practitioner documentation | 15% |
Oct. 25 implementation date | 7% |
No guidance on exact documentation required to prove medical necessity | 10% |
Will not curb fraud and abuse | 6% |
Physicians are not aware of their role in the new process | 6% |
Claims review could be more subjective | 2% |
Prescription required within 30 days of face-to-face exam | 42% |
All of the above | 3% |
I have no concerns. I think it will be easier for beneficiaries to receive appropriate equipment and easier for providers to receive reimbursement | 4% |
