On June 19, Ken Yannerella, senior vice president of sales for Longmont, Colo.-based Sunrise Medical, passed away in his Dallas home. He was responsible for the company's wholesaler, acute care and national accounts business. Yannerella's career spanned 25 years in half a dozen different roles with the company, where he began in 1978 as a representative for Guardian Products prior to the division's acquisition by Sunrise. In 1988, he became director of the Rehab Group, and in 1997, was promoted to area vice president for the company's Southwestern Region. In 2000, Yannerella became vice president of distributor accounts, and, over the past several years, the position expanded into his latest role. According to the company, “Ken's innate ability to form quality, lasting relationships became his trademark … The loss of Ken as a member of the Sunrise family and an outstanding individual is immeasurable.” Yannerella is survived by his wife and two sons.
