JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (January 12, 2022)—Forcura, a health care technology company that enables safer patient care transitions and coordination, announced that it will recognize Amedisys as the recipient of its first-ever Forcura CONNECT Award.
The award, which will be presented at the 2022 Forcura CONNECT Summit Jan. 18-20, was created to honor an entity for its exemplary approach or achievements in empowering better patient care. The award includes a $5,000 donation from Forcura to the Amedisys Foundation.
Forcura selected Amedisys, a Louisiana-based home health, hospice, personal and high-acuity care in the home provider, for its consistent excellence and innovation in patient care. The organization recently partnered with Penn State Health and Highmark through Contessa, an Amedisys company, to form Hospital Care at Home and Skilled Nursing Care at Home, which will operate through Penn State Health Home Recovery Care. These programs, which are expected to launch in early 2022, bring all the essential elements of hospital and skilled nursing care into the comfort of patients’ homes.
“Amedisys has served as a pioneer for the acute and post-acute sectors, forming partnerships and creating solutions to advance our industry and deliver outstanding, value-based care to patients,” said Forcura founder and CEO, Craig Mandeville. “Amedisys has also demonstrated leadership and an unwavering commitment to team and culture amidst our sector’s continued staffing challenges, regularly recognized as one of the industry’s best places to work.”
“This award helps raise awareness of what’s possible through innovation and doing what’s best for our patients—it’s an honor to be recognized by Forcura as part of that effort,” said Amedisys SVP and chief technology officer, Keith Blanchard.
In addition to its recognition, Amedisys will lead a discussion at the 2022 Forcura CONNECT Summit on using AI to retain employees and maintain strong morale. Sharon Brunecz, Amedisys’ chief human resource officer—along with a panel of Amedisys employees—will explain another approach to innovation: its development of a proprietary, AI-powered retention model to identify and engage team members who are at risk of attrition.
The Summit brings together several healthcare leaders each year to discuss trends, survey findings and crucial issues affecting the entire healthcare ecosystem. There is no cost to attendees.
