OWINGS MILLS, Md. (December 1, 2020)—The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) recently was recognized as a Silver Winner of a 2020 Golden Bridge Award. The award’s “Company Rethinking of the Year” category applauds companies that have demonstrated resiliency and creativity in adapting their business models and customer service offerings during the COVID-19 pandemic.
BOC was acknowledged for introducing tools and technologies to support customers during the pandemic, with a focus on safety, efficiency and customer service. They include:
- Adding COVID-19 resources to the BOC web site
- Offering live, online, remotely proctored exams for certification candidates to allow testing options from home or office settings
- Conducting virtual site surveys for facilities seeking BOC accreditation
- Publishing a thought-leadership article, “Comprehensive Guidelines for Emergency Contingency Plans,” in the October 2020 edition of O&P Almanac.
The Golden Bridge Awards is a premier business recognition program, honoring transformational achievements and innovations from every major industry worldwide. All organizations—private, public, corporations, nonprofits, associations, vendors and government agencies—are eligible.
“COVID-19 continues to present a wide range of challenges for healthcare professionals and durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) facilities. The BOC team is focusing on our customers’ needs and opportunities to be innovative to support them,” said Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE, BOC’s President & CEO. “Like many organizations, BOC has embraced the opportunity to rethink and adapt.
