Among other factors, winners were selected based on “total number of documented export deals completed, the company’s commitment to exporting and the company’s innovation and originality in marketing products or services.”

Currently, exports contribute approximately 20 percent of sales to the company, and Brownmed has distribution relationships in 130 countries. Success internationally has been largely due to the strength of products such as Seal-Tight, a leader in moisture protection for casts and bandages for nearly 25 years, and Plastalume, a line of splints developed and invented by the company’s founder more than 50 years ago.

In addition to expanding these lines, Brownmed is seeking to expand distribution relationships for other brands including NuRoo, a line of products for mom and baby designed to enhance the practice and benefits of Kangaroo Care, and IMAK Compression, a line of products featuring the only gloves on the market to receive the Ease-of-Use Commendation from the Arthritis Foundation.
