BOSTON—CareAcademy, the care enablement platform, announced the appointment of three executives to its leadership team. To support the company's growth strategy, Laura Bottino will serve as chief financial officer, Kristin Relyea will take on the role of vice president of product, design and engineering, and Tracy Huckabee is joining as vice president of content and quality.
“Our new leaders bring decades of collective experience in scaling high-growth companies in health care, e-commerce, SaaS and education, that offer both mission and margin,” said Helen Adeosun, CEO and founder, CareAcademy. “As we double down on product development and user experience within our platform, Laura, Kristin and Tracy will be instrumental in our next stage of growth as a product company.”
New CFO Bottino has more than 30 years of experience in financial and operations management, business leadership and corporate strategy. Before CareAcademy, Bottino scaled the accounting and finance function at high-growth startup Nuvolo, where she was responsible for financings and cash management. Before that, she spent 15 years in corporate finance at Unilever, holding various positions within accounting operations, supply chain and R&D. Bottino’s professional experience also includes accounting leadership roles at organizations in the marketing and health care industries. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Sacred Heart University.
Relyea brings more than 15 years of experience in technology to her role as VP of product, design and engineering, focused on creating customer value through product experiences. Before joining CareAcademy, Relyea led product teams in emerging businesses at Wayfair LLC, including launching and scaling the now international Home Services marketplace offering. Before Wayfair, she spent several years scaling care.com from startup to IPO and ran the eLearning product for Kantar. According to CareAcademy, she is deeply passionate about improving the patient and caregiver experience through the education and support provided by CareAcademy. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.
As the VP of content and quality at CareAcademy, Huckabee will lead all aspects of learning design and development with a particular focus on instructional strategy, learner engagement and quality. Bringing more than 20 years of experience, she was previously co-founder and CLO of WeejeeLearning, a custom content provider acquired in 2015 by Principled Technologies, where she held the role of chief digital strategist and continued to provide overall strategy and solution design. Huckabee earned her master of education in instructional technology from George Mason University.
