OWINGS MILLS, Md. (April 22, 2014)—A consolidated approach to credentialing was recently implemented by The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) through the successful unification of the organization’s certification and accreditation departments. This milestone integration will strengthen BOC’s product and service delivery and cross-promotion efficiencies. To facilitate this new direction, Wendy Miller, BOCO, CDME, has been promoted from director of facility accreditation to chief credentialing officer. She will be responsible for the successful integration of the certification and accreditation departments. A BOC-certified orthotist since 1994, Miller brings a practitioner’s perspective to the new role. With more than 20 years of experience in the DME and O&P industries, Miller is a sought-after expert and nationwide lecturer. In her new role, Miller will lead the direction, strategy, policies and day-to-day operations of BOC’s credentialing programs. Prior to joining BOC, Miller served on the BOC Board of Directors for six years where she was instrumental in the development of the orthotic fitter (COF) and mastectomy fitter (CMF) certifications. Concurrent with Miller’s transition, Jeff Price, MCP, has been promoted from director of operations to chief operating officer. Price has 15 years of non-profit and association management expertise. He will direct, maintain and support BOC’s strategic and operational initiatives by ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency and success of all business processes in the areas of IT, human resources, financial management and marketing. In collaboration with the president and CEO, Miller will define and implement the strategies and operational business plans to support BOC’s strategic initiatives and growth. BOC President and CEO, Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE, said, “We are very excited for BOC’s future and the new roles Wendy and Jeff have assumed. Our long-standing plan has been to unify the two departments to promote internal and external efficiency and cohesiveness. Customer service remains a top priority at BOC; the new alignment allows us to better-serve those who depend on BOC.” Visit bocusa.org for more information.
