On October 1, CMS announced the single payment amounts for the Round 1 Re-compete of the Medicare Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) Competitive Bidding Program and began offering contracts to successful bidders.
CMS is required by law to re-compete contracts under the DMEPOS Competitive Bidding Program at least once every three years. The Round 1 Rebid contracts will expire December 31. CMS plans to announce the contract suppliers this fall, and the Round 1 Re-compete contracts and prices are scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2014.
