SPRING HOUSE, Penn. (July 18, 2014)—The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Department of Health and Human Services, announced earlier today in a statement published in the Federal Register (FR Doc. 2013-16735), that CMS has given its final notice approving The Compliance Team (TCT) for initial recognition as a national accrediting organization for Rural Health Clinics (RHCs). With this move, the federal government now recognizes TCTs rural health clinic standards as meeting or exceeding federal standards for participating in Medicare. Rural health clinics seeking Medicare certification or recertification through accreditation can avoid wait times for agency surveyors by contacting TCT directly to ensure that their accreditation survey is timely completed. TCT is already nationally recognized as a leading health care accreditation organization that provides accreditation services to thousands of providers in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The firm was formed in 1994 and is the first certified female-owned health care accreditation organization to hold approval for Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS–2006) from CMS. "We are very pleased that CMS has once again placed its confidence in TCT and recognizes our dedication to quality care and patient safety," said Sandra Canally, RN, CEO of TCT. "We welcome this opportunity to partner with CMS to help ensure the timely review and accreditation of Rural Health Clinics so patients in these communities have continued access to these important health care resources. “Being approved by CMS’ Certification and Survey Division is a really big deal,” Canally said. “Now that we have demonstrated the capacity to receive CMS deeming authority for both Part A and Part B health care providers, we (TCT) are the accreditation choice for our Rural Health Care Providers.” Successful completion of TCTs Exemplary Provider accreditation program for Rural Health Clinics sends a message to their local community that the level of quality has been validated by a third-party agency (TCT) and that it is at an Exemplary level.
