WATERLOO, Iowa (March 4, 2021) – VGM’s annual Heartland Conference has shifted from June 14–16 to Sept. 13–15, 2021. All networking and educational events will remain the same, including tracks in respiratory; accessibility; rehab; leadership; operations; billing and reimbursement; and sales, marketing, and retail and more.
The change is to ensure the safety of all those involved and is expected to only occur for this year, with a return to Heartland’s normal summer schedule in 2022.
“Our members and vendors are vital to the strength and success of our health care system, as the pandemic has proven,” said Clint Geffert, president of VGM & Associates. “We have a responsibility to keep everyone safe while they learn and network with their peers from around the country. By shifting to the fall, attendees will have more time to take the precautions they need to join us in person. After all, we want to bring our community back together to celebrate 20 years of Heartland.”
Another change coming to Heartland’s 20th anniversary is the addition of a virtual component. Sessions will be complimentary for those who attend in person; however, VGM members may also sign up exclusively for the virtual courses.
“We love to see our members when they come to town each year, and we look forward to hosting them again,” stated Geffert. “However, we know that there are still plenty of unknowns and that not everyone will be able to join us in person. Our virtual component will give those members a chance to learn and earn some CEUs and contact hours from afar.”
While those who exclusively attend the virtual sessions may not have access to the same sessions as those attending in person, they will still be able to connect and engage with industry experts, vendors and their peers.
“Heartland is an opportunity for our members to get together and be part of something bigger. Whether they choose to attend in person or virtually, we want them to experience all the magic that Heartland has to offer,” Geffert concluded.
