KLEVE, Germany (May 28, 2014)—Medline International Germany GmbH and Kleve Mayor Theodor Brauer break ground for the construction of Medline’s new warehouse. Medline, a provider of surgical and medical products worldwide, is tripling the size of its current European distribution center. This expansion comes as a response to growing demand for its products and services and growth plans for Eastern Europe, including the expansion of the company’s integrated logistics services. Medline employs 140 people in Kleve, of whom 60 are directly involved with the storage and distribution of Medline’s entire European product range.
"Due to its proximity to the port of Rotterdam, the location in Kleve is our gateway to Europe," said Tripp Amdur, Medline's International Group president. "By tripling the size of our warehouse facilities, we will be able to offer our customers not only a greater variety of products, but also unique logistical services." Medline has also requested an option for land adjoining the new warehouse for a future expansion project that may include an integrated sterilization facility.
Medline's customers, including hospitals, nursing homes, doctors' offices, pharmacies and distributors around the globe, depend on the accurate and timely delivery of high quality medical supplies. Medline now has more than 50 distribution centers worldwide to help provide medical and surgical supplies to its health care customers where and when they need them. Learn more at medline.com/de.
