WATERLOO, Iowa (May 23, 2014)—Advocacy group People for Quality Care (PFQC) launched Dear Medicare, a website that features stories of seniors and people with disabilities who are being negatively impacted by health care policies.
“We understand that many Americans are unaware that seniors and people with disabilities are struggling to access their medical equipment and care,” said Kelly Turner, PFQC director of advocacy. “Dear Medicare works to educate the public about the dire state of health care through the experiences of people who rely on Medicare.”
The group launched its Medicare Beneficiary Complaint Hotline in June 2013 and has received more than 3,000 calls. “The calls we receive are heartbreaking, but important to share. Our mission with Dear Medicare is to lift up the voices of Medicare beneficiaries and move readers to action through their powerful stories,” concluded Turner.
