BOSTON (August 30, 2021)—Prospero Health, a physician-led home-based medical care provider that supports over 15,000 people facing serious illness, recently announced the hiring of two executive leaders: Bill Kayser as chief financial officer and Robert Machen as chief information officer. Kayser and Machen join an expanding team—nearly 700 overall—that supports patients across 26 states with an innovative care model that combines in-home medical care with enhanced virtual capabilities and 24/7 support for people living with serious illness.

A former Lieutenant in the United States Navy who served for eight years as an Instructor Pilot and Mission Commander, Bill Kayser’s most recent role prior to Prospero was vice president, mergers & acquisitions, corporate strategy and business development for McKesson Corporation. During his time with McKesson, Kayser led acquisition, divestiture and investment activity across the McKesson platform. Prior to joining McKesson, Kayser spent eight years as an investment banker focused exclusively on the health care industry at Goldman Sachs and Harris Williams, where he advised clients on a broad scope of corporate finance, capital markets and M&A engagements.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering, Kayser also earned a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Planning from the United States Naval War College in Newport, Rhod Island. Before beginning with Goldman Sachs, Kayser earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

A global technology leader whose experience includes health care, hospitality and finance, Robert Machen’s focus at Prospero is on strategically leading its technology teams, guiding short-term execution and long-range planning in support of the company’s objectives and delivery of care.
A graduate of Harding University, Machen is based out of Prospero’s Memphis, Tennessee location. Machen recently served as the chief operating officer of ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, leading its digital transformation and global expansion. Machen joined ALSAC/St. Jude as its chief information officer in 2010 and enabled unprecedented growth by modernizing and scaling its technology.
Prior to ALSCAC/St. Jude, Machen was an executive at Hilton Hotels Corporation, responsible for technology strategy, operations, and research and development. Before leaving Hilton, he was part of a small team of executives that led a global business transformation designed to streamline operations and reduce costs while improving customer service.
