CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (April 28, 2014)—In recognition of Lymphedema Awareness month in March, medical compression garment manufacturer Julius Zorn Inc. (Juzo) launched the Keep Moving Movement on Facebook. The goal of the campaign was to raise awareness of the condition and benefits of compression garments. Juzo asked people living with lymphedema to share the inspirational stories of how they keep moving toward a better life with the aid of compression garments. The movement engaged more than 10,000 people, bringing attention to a worthy cause. Lymphedema is caused by a blockage in the lymphatic system, which causes swelling in the arms or legs. It affects approximately 140 million people worldwide. While there is no cure, lymphedema can be controlled through diligent care. Juzo manufactures compression garments that help improve circulation to reduce swelling caused by lymphedema. “We design all our products to be comfortable and therapeutic, using the highest quality materials,” says Annerose Zorn, CEO of Juzo. “We want to help make it easier for people with lymphedema to exercise and become healthier. The Keep Moving Movement is a celebration of strength and courage, and knowing our products have helped improve the quality of life for so many people is truly rewarding.” To join the movement, people submitted their stories on Facebook with a chance to win the $5,000 grand prize. The social exchanges began instantly, with thousands of people leaving comments of encouragement and sharing the stories with their own networks. The movement created an uplifting online community, bringing people together to keep moving forward. Click here to read all of the inspirational stories on Juzo’s Facebook page. Juzo encouraged its dealers to leverage the campaign to help educate and inspire customers with similar conditions and struggles. Retailers throughout North America used point-of-purchase collateral to promote the movement within their stores and shared stories on their own websites and social networking sites—generating thousands of additional impressions. “Juzo routinely looks for opportunities to help our retail partners creatively educate and engage their customers,” says Tom Musone, Director of Marketing for Juzo. “The Keep Moving Movement produced narratives that dealers can continue to use to raise awareness of product benefits and inspire their customers. We hope our posts and online promotions will help bolster or even establish social media programs on the retail level.” Juzo is offering retailers branded collateral and web banners to further promote the results of the movement and to help share the inspiring stories with more people nationwide.
