Washington, D.C. (September 7, 2021)—It is with regret that the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) must announce the cancellation of the 2021 Home Care and Hospice Conference and Expo, originally scheduled for Oct. 3-5, 2021, in New Orleans.
This decision was not made lightly, and we are enormously grateful for the support so many people showed for the homecare and hospice community by registering to join their fellow industry leaders at the conference.
“This was a very difficult decision to make, and everyone at NAHC is very disappointed that it became necessary to cancel the conference,” said NAHC President William A. Dombi. “However, the safety of our guests is of paramount importance and the devastation caused by Hurricane Ida made it impossible for us to assure our attendees they would enjoy a safe and productive conference.”
We hope to present many of the education sessions as webinars in the upcoming weeks and months. Please look for more information from NAHC as those plans are finalized. Refunds for registration are being processed.
Our hearts go out to the people of New Orleans as they struggle to rebuild their homes, businesses, and communities in the wake of the storm. We urge all who can to make an easy and tax-deductible donation to the Homecare Association of Louisiana’s HomeCare Recovery Fund through the secure online portal at GoFundMe. Your donation will assist home health staff who sustained damage or the loss of property due to Hurricane Ida.
Once again, thank you to everyone who planned to be a part of the community of home care and hospice professionals at the 2021 conference and for supporting the National Association for Home Care & Hospice. We hope to see you soon.
