Spring House, PENNSYLVANIA—The Compliance Team (TCT), a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)-approved national healthcare accreditation organization, announced a new accreditation program for Local Health Departments (LHDs).
In recognition of the CDC's goal of transforming and improving the public health system, TCT's new Local Health Department Accreditation program is designed to build and strengthen staff competencies; verify and validate policies, procedures, and documentation; and create an environment of operational excellence.
"TCT has always been a company of firsts," said Sandra Canally, RN, founder/CEO, The Compliance Team. "As a market leader in developing plain-language standards and an expert-led, simplified accreditation process, we are thrilled to support HDs in their goals to improve operational efficiencies and clinical excellence through accreditation. More importantly, we are giving HDs their only choice for a care-driven, patient-centered, cost-effective accreditation program."
Pre-applications for accreditation are being accepted prior to the official roll out of the program, which will be on or before June 5, 2023.
Attaining TCT accreditation identifies a health department as an exemplary provider. This status recognizes the HD has demonstrated outstanding operational patient care practices and compliance to comprehensive quality standards.
TCT's service-specific, care-driven, patient-centered accreditation and certification programs are intended to be used by local health departments, pharmacies, physician practices, clinics and durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) providers to ensure their facilities meet comprehensive quality, safety and efficiency standards covering day-to-day practices. Simplified, operations-based protocols help empower employees to better deal with everyday workplace challenges.
