WATERLOO, Iowa (January 4, 2021)—Two employees of The van Halem Group, a division of VGM & Associates, recently joined the boards of two different associations that serve the home medical (HME) industry.
Kelly Grahovac, general manager, was named to the board of directors for the South Carolina Medical Equipment Services Association (SCMESA). Wayne van Halem, president, was named to the board of the Georgia Association of Medical Equipment Suppliers (GAMES). VGM have sponsored events for both of these associations, and both Grahovac and van Halem have been regular speakers at their association meetings.
These state associations are made up of suppliers who provide home medical equipment supplies and services to residents in their respective states. VGM has worked with both associations for many years to serve suppliers, stakeholders and patients throughout the entire HME industry, and many other employees of VGM serve on these associations’ boards.
Bobby Horton, executive director for SCMESA, said, “We are very pleased to have Kelly’s expertise on our board of directors.”
“It is an honor to be accepted as a board member to SCMESA,” said Grahovac. “I enjoy being able to provide my insight and expertise to all medical equipment providers, but being that I live in South Carolina, it is even better to work with my neighbors!”
Charlie Barnes, CEO of Barnes Healthcare Services and president of GAMES, said, “GAMES is excited to have Wayne join its’ board of directors. His leadership is valued nationally and will be a key addition to help GAMES continue to grow and thrive as a state association.”
"I have worked with GAMES for many years, and I am looking forward to working with the board to help build membership by illustrating the value GAMES brings to HME suppliers in the state of Georgia,” said van Halem. “Now more than ever, our industry needs to band together.”
