WATERLOO, Iowa (October 19, 2020)—VGM & Associates is offering a virtual conference platform to the home medical equipment (HME) state associations for their upcoming winter and spring conferences.
The continued threat of COVID-19 has put strain on every aspect of health care. Most conferences and tradeshows have been canceled. For HME state associations these events are a primary source of revenue throughout the year. The intent of VGM virtual conference platform offering is to provide a low-cost alternative while bringing state association members added value and to continue to foster exhibitor vendor partner relationships.
“We are trying our best to fill the hole created by COVID-19,” said John Gallagher, vice president of VGM Government Relations. “Online events cannot compare to the in-person events, but we can certainly continue to learn, share ideas and network with each other virtually.”
The virtual platform is being managed through VGM Education and allows each association the ability to host their individualized conference at little to no cost. The associations will profit from attendee registrations and exhibitor fees. To assist with the cost of the platform, VGM secured premier and track sponsorships from their vendor partners.
The program includes live presentations and prerecorded CEU sessions that attendees can take for up to two weeks following the conference. The platform also offers a virtual trade show floor for attendees to visit exhibitors’ booths. “Our industry is strongest when we are united and we will continue to support state associations, just as we have done in the past, and will do in the future,” said Clint Geffert, president of VGM & Associates. “Together we will continue to move the needle and impact change.”
Session tracks for the conferences will include Rehab, Respiratory, General Business, and HR and Billing. Planning is still underway for the coming events. The first virtual conferences will kick off on Nov. 11, 2020 with the CAMES (Colorado Association for Medical Equipment Suppliers) winter conference.
