WATERLOO, Iowa (April 7, 2021)—VGM has announced the schedule for its annual Heartland Conference, taking place Sept. 13-15, 2021. Along with traditional in-person presentations, the conference will also feature a virtual component.
VGM’s Heartland Conference, now in its 20th year, is a two-day conference and networking event. It offers education related to the home medical equipment (HME) industry in areas such as respiratory, accessibility, rehab, leadership, operations, sales and marketing, billing and reimbursement and more.
“The Heartland Conference will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and we have scheduled some great new additions to make it one to remember,” said Kayla Mahler, brand manager at VGM & Associates, who oversees Heartland’s educational offerings as Heartland education chair. “We want this milestone to be a valuable experience for each attendee—from the educational sessions to the social and networking events.”
Sessions were hand-picked based on their strength in addressing the challenges HME professionals face today. In-person and virtual sessions combined offer nearly 70 options for registrants to earn contact hours. In-person attendees alone can earn an estimated 15 contact hours/CEUs and can also attend panel discussions, register for home modification installer training and wheelchair repair tech training sessions, engage with vendors, and attend the community dinners and other networking events.
“Heartland attendees are extremely engaged in their industries, and they’re looking for a back-and-forth dialog that discusses various perspectives,” stated Mahler. “With our lineup of engaging sessions, 2021 is sure to exceed expectations.”
To further expand the peer-to-peer learning opportunities, Heartland will again feature a number of social events, including community dinners.
“After a year of challenges, Heartland is a reminder of what we can accomplish as a community when we keep growing and diversifying. Together, we are part of something bigger, something that’s truly special,” Mahler concluded.
In March, VGM announced that for the safety of attendees, employees and the community, the annual conference, normally held in June, would shift to September for one year only. To learn more about the Heartland Conference and see the full schedule, please visit vgmheartland.com.
