MIAMI—A Florida woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in a scheme to defraud Medicare by submitting more than $192 million in claims for genetic tests and durable medical equipment that patients did not need and telemedicine visits that never occurred.
NASHVILLE, Tennessee—In December 2023, Brookdale Senior Living sold its remaining 20% equity interest in its Health Care Services unconsolidated venture and received aggregate proceeds of approximately $27 million in connection with the transaction. The company previously decreased this investment upon a sale of a portion of the venture in November 2021.
